Chevy 8.5 inch 10 bolt differential pinion set up tool. Placed in the bearing mounts and then the back of the pinion gear is measured to the center of the round bar at the flat. Shim pinion in or out to obtain the correct dimension supplied by the gear manufacturer. See rear gear assembly in next photo.

This is the old fixture where the pressure is off center. When this rotates the part dislodges out of the recessed pocket. The new fixture places the pressure on the center of the part evenly clamping it within the recessed pocket. The Red Dot is where a quarter inch glass tube is flame fused to this part while both pieces rotate on a machine that rotates both pieces simultaneously.
